Custodians of Innes House

Innes House is now owned by the 5th generation of the Tennant family, Edward and Zoë Tennant, who continue the family legacy, preserving and protecting this magnificent estate.

Edward Tennant

Edward has always had a passion for the northeast of Scotland and Innes House in particular, spending many a school holiday exploring the forests, fields and moors as a young boy. He moved to Innes House permanently aged 13, before his studies took him to Agricultural College in Gloucestershire, where he met Zoë.

Following University, Edward moved to London to embark on a career in Asset Management, until he returned home to take over the running of the estate following his mother’s passing in 2017. Today, as a custodian of this remarkable corner of Scotland, Edward is dedicated to building a sustainable future for Innes House. Outside his role as custodian of the family-run castle in Moray, Edward can often be found driving the family’s trusty horsebox, supporting his children’s equestrian pursuits.

Zoë Tennant

Zoë grew up in Buckinghamshire enjoying all that the countryside has to offer, especially horse riding, which remains her passion and one that she shares with her children today. With a background in corporate marketing and hospitality, Zoë enjoyed a career in event management for KPMG, where she ensured the plain sailing of gatherings for up to 1000 guests.

After moving to Scotland, Zoë fell in love with the ever-changing landscapes, not to mention the long light summer evenings, and beautifully dramatic skies that so often appear in the winter months. If she’s not welcoming guests to Innes, Zoë can be found with the horses or trying to keep up with the next generation of Tennants…
